Meet Your 2019 MVHS Extra Life United Gamer!

This year, The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) Foundation will send one of our Extra Lifers to Extra Life United in Florida. Extra Life United is a gaming tournament, organized by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, inviting the best charity gamer’s to compete for a $150,000 prize pool to benefit their local children’s hospital Earning the trip to Extra Life United this year, Brian Reid was MVHS Foundation’s top fundraiser for 2018, Congratulations to Brian- and let’s take a moment to “meet” him!

Brian was a rookie to Exra Life this year, joining the fun as a first time fundraising gamer. Even though Brian was new to Extra Life, he was not new to the gaming world. Brian has played games for most of his life, his love for games all started on a Sega Genesis. He has since played on every version of Playstation and dabbles a little with PC games. Brian is from Marcy and loves to play Overwatch, Battlefield or Super Smash Brothers with his friends. He and his friends even have an unofficial team called Team Smoosh and enjoy playing Overwatch together. Red Dead Redemption and Spiderman are Brian’s top choices when playing solo. Since Brian is so fond of math, physics and space, he finds his long time go-to favorite to be Kerbal Space.

Brian enjoys more than just Gaming Marathons he has also completed five full marathons and a dozen half marathons. When Brian isn’t busy participating in marathons, you will find him enjoying Astrophotography, which indulges his love for the galaxies, nebulae, and other deep space objects.
